So I know when you have a natural birth that they tell you that you'll bleed for awhile afterwards and you need to have pads and stuff.. but do you still bleed like that with a c-section?

I doubt it, but I don't know.

yes you will still have heavy period like bleeding after your c-section.

yes, I gave birth may 18th and didn't start my period until late august early sept. But I heard if you completly breast feed it will stay away longer. I had to supplement so that is why mine came back sooner.

What I mean is right after delivery there will be "period like" bleeding.

I had a C-section with my son in feb. & I had hardly any bleeding, just some spotting here and there & maybe one day of it being like a normal period, but I was also breastfeeding so I'm guessing that had something to do with having less bleeding.

yeah. I'm going to pump so they can feed her the milk while she's in NICU

That's good. I pumped to while I was in the hospital then once I came home I got my own pump, but breastfeeding only last for about the first month for me, now I wish I would've stuck with it because my son has had to go through about 4 different formulas.

Oh & my bleeding lasted on and off for about a month, mainly just spotting though.

hmm yeah well since this is the only baby I'm going to risk having.. I want to have the whole experience so I'm determined to breastfeed no matter how hard or painful it is.

I wish I would have known that if you breastfed your period would be gone longer, I would have kept trying. Nicolas refused to latch on in the hospital, and it hurt, so after the second day I gave up. My breast were so sore.

Yeah it's the same.. I wondered the same thing when I had a csection with my daughter.. (still depends on the person though to as how long/how much)

I had 2 Csection's and bfd after both of them . With the right support under the baby and the correct latch it's a breeze ! I also did not get a period until ds was 9 month's old but it's not regular yet , that is kind of a pain .LOL

If you breastfeed that helps hold the old girl off for a while LOL. When I breastfed well she stayed away for about 4 mths.

after i had my c-sections i was bleeding for like 5 or 6 weeks. It was a bummer but it's normal to bleed like that after having a baby...I also pumped while my oldest was in NICU. He stayed in there for about 2 months.. Hated it too!!!
