So last week i took Sean for his 1 year doctor appointment..and this has been the appointment i've been waiting for so i could ask my doctor about Sean-Michaels odd sleeping cycle and how I can get him on a regualr sleeping cycle. I wanted to share these tips that she gave me .....

first. your child is required about 10-12 hours .
second. you child should stay up for 5hrs before napping .
third. when your child naps they should nap either 2 small naps or one big nap but usually no naps after 3pm. you should try to keep your child awake until about 8pm. let them slow down by giving a warm bath, reading a story, or giving some milk....and they should be in bed at about 9 and sleep till 6-7 am.

easy right? easier said than done if you ask me. i tried that all weekend and sean michael is not budging...but she said being consistant is the key! i'll try for a lil longer and you guys should try too if you r having a problem gettign your child on a sleep cycle!

i hope this works cause i'm super tired of staying up late with sean when i have school.....

my dd is about to turn 2 yrs. She takes two long naps. I mean about 2 hrs twice a day. And then my 8 pm she is ready for bed again. She is up by 7am.

I will try these, but I know she will fight. She takes cat naps through out the day and then at night she fights sleep and still wakes up so early. Im hoping once she turns one and is a little older she will sleep better.

I have always been consistent but i've never followed a guidline like that. When they were having two naps I let them have one is the morning and afternoon when they were tired (no naps within the first two hours after getting up and no naps after 4). THey go to bed at8 and sleep till between 7 and 9 most days

I hope it works for you! My daughter doesn't even nap, but she is 3 so a little older than your little guy.
